Your Business and Your Retirement Share One Tax Return
Small business financial planning in Fort Smith, AR usually means a business accountant on one side and a personal advisor on the other, neither seeing the whole picture. We work both sides from a single CPA-led practice.

The Decisions That Sit With Every Owner
Structure, compensation and what actually lands on your personal return
Your entity structure determines how income flows to you and what it costs in tax, and a choice made at formation often stops fitting the business years later. How you pay yourself follows from that, including reasonable compensation for S corporation owners and how distributions interact with employment taxes. Deduction and timing strategy sits on top of both, covering equipment purchases, retirement contributions, qualified business income considerations and which year an expense or a receipt should land in. We work through all of it against your actual returns, business and personal, because those documents are where the coordination either exists or does not.
Questions Owners Ask Before They Call
Including what we do and do not handle
How big does my business need to be?
There is no revenue threshold. A solo practitioner with one entity decision to make and a company with twenty employees both have planning worth doing, and the introductory meeting is where we determine what would actually help.
Do you prepare my business tax return?
No. We do not prepare returns, keep books or run payroll. We handle the forward-looking strategy and coordinate with the professionals who do that work.
Can I keep my current business CPA?
Yes, and most of our clients do. We share our analysis with your preparer so the filing reflects the plan, and having a CPA on the planning side generally makes that conversation easier rather than territorial.
Should my business be an S corporation?
It depends on your income, your payroll, your state filings and what you plan to do with the business eventually, so it is a modeling question rather than a rule. We run the comparison with your numbers and explain the tradeoffs before anything is filed.
How does business planning connect to my personal retirement?
Directly, since the plan you sponsor, how you pay yourself and how you exit all determine what is available to you personally. We plan them as one picture rather than two, which is the whole reason this work sits alongside our retirement planning.
Investing involves risk, including the possible loss of principal.
